On Arrival: Trim 2 to 3 centimetres from each stem at a diagonal angle. Gerbera stems can be prone to bending, so cut cleanly and place in a vase with only a shallow depth of fresh, cool water - around 5 to 7 centimetres is ideal, as gerberas do not like to be submerged too deeply.
Water: Change the water every two days and re-trim the stems each time. Keep the water level shallow and consistent - too much water can cause the stems to rot at the base.
Position: Gerberas love light and thrive in a bright spot with indirect sunlight. Avoid direct sun and heat sources, which can cause the blooms to wilt prematurely.
Support: If stems begin to bend, try placing the gerberas in a narrower vase that provides more stem support, or wrap the upper portion of the bouquet loosely with paper for the first 24 hours to encourage them to stand upright.
Longevity: With attentive care, your gerberas should remain fresh and vibrant for seven to ten days.
